Felt Board Tutorial Series- Let’s Begin!

Many months ago, I was trying to figure out what the kids would like for Christmas this year (I like to think ahead, okay?  🙂  We are trying to move away from the typical plastic toys, so I wanted something different and imaginative and I suddenly remembered how much I LOVED felt boards when I was younger!  Anyone remember the awesome felt boards of the 80’s?  Rock on!

I began the search into how to make one, patterns for shapes, etc and I wasn’t finding much.  SO, I have decided to start a Felt Board Series on here!  Right here at the Mouse House!  During the next few weeks/months, I will show you how to make the felt board and multiple patterns for making felt shapes/people/characters/scenery!  I am so excited to share this with you and I hope someone can benefit from this.

In the meantime, I have to share a recent thrift store find.  If you know anything about me, you know that I LOVE to shop at thrift stores!  In fact, I really need to start sharing more of my random finds 🙂  Anyway, I stumbled across a Felt Board package with tons of Thomas the Engine felt cutouts and Blues Clues cutouts (by the way, the retail value of this has to be well over $50, but I got it for $1.50… no lie!)

I had to laugh when I saw the cutouts.

WHY are there TWO dudes in their undies?  (I put pants on the one guy, just to avoid the indecency)  Plus, there were party hats and multiple pairs of underwear.  Hey, I am cool with it!  I love it, but I was a little surprised, haha.
They even LOOK surprised, right?  Like, oh CRAP, they caught us!  Hey Joe, put your damn pants on! You too, Joe!
Please excuse my late night ramblings….. Bottom line?  I got  an awesome deal, which might give you a boost to check out your local thrift store or consignment shop!
