Music Room: Home Tour

I have finally gotten around to getting Garrett’s music room worked on. He is so generous with the rest of the house being taken over by us and he deserves a space of his own. If you didn’t know, my husband Garrett has been a guitarist since about 7th grade and has a wide variety of them (many not shown). This room isn’t completed (think: new curtains and something done with the closet doors), but it is good for now!

When I posted Ainsley’s Halloween costume on Instagram, lots of people messaged me about the room, asking where I got the posters and decor. What better way than to add this room to my Home Tour page?  I will be sure to update this post when I finally get around to changing out the curtains and closet doors.

This room was originally our old playroom.  Click that word “playroom” too see what I mean. Apparently, I like yellow. Now, this is a space for my husband to do what he wants with. (Yes, I hid a bunch of his music stuff for this post, like his pedals and a bunch of amps).

I loved this little console table I found at Target. Perfect for all the drumsticks and music books.

Above the console table is a cool print I found on Zulily. I love shopping on there for unique finds.

See that stool that seems to have no place in the room? Did you know that Ainsley and I were on Flea Market Flip this past October? Yep, that is our stool we made that didn’t sell and we got to keep!  Look out for Season 13, episode 1 called “Mommy and Me at the Flea”.  How fun, right?

The kids like to have their little guitars and ukuleles in here and play along.

The opposite side of the room is my personal favorite. We were both avid poster buyers back in the 90’s. And we happened to keep most of them! Half of these posters were hanging in my room when I was a teen and half were in his room. Any guesses to which were mine? It was so cool to finally see these be hung up again. (and great memories)

The Tama drum kit gets played often (and very loudly) by Ethan.

This cool chair is where Garrett can sit and play the guitar. I believe I found it at Home Goods.

He has many amps for his electric guitars, but several are stashed in the closet. I really need to do something with those doors. Any suggestions?  They are way too “suburban” right now.  Also, the art above the amp will be changed out (I will be sure to update this post).

I hope you enjoyed another Home Tour update! It has been a while since I posted and that was purposeful. I needed a bit of a break and I am ready for 2019 and to get back into the swing of things!
