The Caroline Peplum Top

My Ladies Caroline Dress and Peplum Top has been a hit within the PDF world… and I have been asked so many times to show this in a knit…

Months ago, I had made it with the awesome navy and white striped knit from Willow and Co.

The knit is very thick and beautiful… I wish I could use this type of knit for everything.

(pretend my stripes are perfectly matching, mmm kay?)

I used my Caroline Dress and Peplum top pattern and did the short sleeves, peplum version.  I did reduce the width of the skirt because I didn’t want it too poofy for this.   When using a knit, you do not need the zipper.  Simply remove the center back seam
(You will notice that I have a back seam for this… that is because I didn’t have quite enough to do on the fold… But you should most definitely try to do on the fold… just remove the center back seam line either way)

The original pattern calls for a full lining, but with a knit, I don’t feel that is necessary.  To compensate for the lining, you could either do a facing, a bias trim, or do what I did… simply serge the edges of your neckline, and then fold in and sew.
