Autism Walk 2014

This past weekend was the Walk Now for Autism in Mount Laurel, New Jersey (where I grew up!) and I was thrilled that my family came out to support Ethan and walk with us and helped us raise a bunch of money for research.  Thanks guys!

The weather was amazing!

We are still wondering if Ethan understands what the whole ordeal is about… we certainly don’t keep the word Autism a secret around here, but I don’t think he quite “gets” it yet.  As many of you know, I have a disability (physical) and I have tried to explain to him that he just has something that makes him different, too.

He is so supported by our entire family.

After the walk, we took the kids to the local playground Laurel Acres, which is where I used to go as a child.  Kind of cool to be back there.  They have the best hill there, so of course, they ran and ran and ran.

I love these kids so much.

Days like this are what make all of the doldrums of winter seem like a distant memory.
I am SO ready for the warm weather.

I had a wonderful time walking with the Shaner-Crouse crew. Ethan is just the most amazing boy – I am honored to be his grammy and to walk for, and with, him.

Looks like a fun walk! I am somewhat involved in the autism world, via vaccine advocacy, and I wanted to share a link with you. It is fabulous to make money for autism but Autism Speaks is not as supportive of autists as some of us would like. Read this.
