Frozen Birthday Party for Ainsley

Ainsley just had the “best day of her life”.  She turned five and got the type of party any five year old would dream of.  When she asked me for a Frozen Birthday party, I will be honest… I kind of groaned because everyone has done a Frozen party, but then I realized that she is only this magical age once where I could create amazing memories for her.  I will share a lot of photos, with links to everything.

When I was planning this party, I asked my friend, who also happens to be Ainsley’s singing teacher, if she had any recommendations on local girls to be princesses at Ainsley’s party.  Oh my…. she recommended these 3 lovely and amazing girls and I can’t even begin to tell you how incredible each of them are.  Jocelyn (Anna), Kyra (Elsa), and Bella (Snow White) were simply beautiful and oh so talented.  Each of these girls have such a future ahead of them.

No, I didn’t make their costumes.  I was sent her beautiful Elsa gown from Whimsically Detailed, which is a shop full of curated looks.  She was so generous and also sent her an Anna costume that Ainsley loves.  Thanks so much Miranda.   The “real” princess dresses and wigs were ordered from a costume shop and I plan to list them for sale since I have no need for them.IMG_0540

I used to stress over making the birthday cakes every year, until I found Frostd Pink Cupcakes last year (remember the mermaid party cake?).  I have since decided that it is so nice to have a beautiful cake delivered to my door the day of the party.  If you are local, I highly highly recommend her.  She is amazing.  This cake was a 2 layer… top was vanilla, bottom was chocolate with chocolate ganache and buttercream and fondant.

We had an assortment of other treats too… fairy bread (one of my favorites growing up.  It is white bread, buttered, and smothered in nonpareils.)IMG_0559

Marshmallows with frosting and pearl sprinkles…. on a stick.  Everything is better on a stick.IMG_0561

The favors were so simple.  “Do you want to build a snowman?” labels were printed from HERE, and I simply added 3 marshmallows, 2 pretzel sticks, an orange tic tac, and 5 mini chocolate chips.  The kids absolutely loved them.IMG_0551

The whole cake table was full of way to much sugar, but it was a hit.

I lined the wall and table with silver sequin fabric.

Adjoining the dining room is the living room.  Of course, I had to decorate both rooms… totally “normal”, right??  Oh, and yes, I even decorated the built ins… okay, yes, I am slightly crazy.  I found every white or off white decoration I had that fit with the theme.  I think it worked out so cute, especially once I made it snow (poly fill batting).IMG_0570 IMG_0567 IMG_0568

We hung (and by “we”, I mean my husband) hung a ton of sparkly snowflakes on the ceiling.IMG_0577

We set up a chair by the bay window, hung blue sequin fabric as a backdrop, and white fleece on the floor for “snow”.

Once Ainsley’s friends arrived, I shuffled them all to the backyard so that we could keep the princesses a surprise.  IMG_0634

I asked the princesses to line up in front of the bay window.

I told them Ainsley and all of her friends to come into the living room.  They had NO idea what was waiting for them.  I have never seen Ainsley so speechless.  Just check her face in these photos.IMG_0637 IMG_0638 IMG_0640 IMG_0641 IMG_0642 IMG_0644

Once the shock wore off, I sat the girls down to listen to a story read by Snow White.  IMG_0655

She is SUCH a beautiful young lady.IMG_0652 IMG_0649

Then, Elsa and Anna both got their turns to sing.  Elsa surprised Ainsley again, but having her do a duet.  Probably the best moment of Ainsley’s life so far. You need to check out both of these girls, for real.

Each of the friends got a photoshoot with the princesses and these ended up being their “thank you cards”.

After the total excitement of that, we settled down with some easy crafts and playtime.IMG_0631

No party is complete without cake time… What a special experience to have beautiful princesses singing to you.IMG_0701 IMG_0706

Thanks so much to everyone who made Ainsley’s day amazing.  An especially huge thanks to Jocelyn, Bella, and Kyra.  You are wonderful young ladies who will do incredible things.
