My blog friend Suz from SewPony recently sent the Debbie Birthday Dress pattern my way and I adore the vintage design!
Ainsley picked out the adorable silver fox fabric from my stash and I paired it with soft gray corduroy for a lovely winter feel. Ainsley said that this dress makes her feel beautiful. I agree.
The back has a simple button loop closure and I used an elastic band to make it easier for Ainsley to attempt self-dressing.
I sewed up View A and the only change I made was adding a band of gray corduroy to break up the foxes a bit. Everything else was followed exactly as the pattern stated and it worked out perfectly.
Ainsley is usually a size 4, but I did size up to a 5 because she currently has an insane amount of size 4 clothing. Even though I sized up, it still fits great and will look cute with a long sleeved tee under it during the colder months!
At one point, Ainsley asked if she could hold one of the kitties because they “would match her dress better than her white kitty”.
These poor cats are very tolerant 🙂
