A Dress to Peplum Refashion

*this is a sponsored post, but as always, all opinions are 100% my own

When I was told that I could pick anything from BooHoo.com  and refashion it, it was hard to choose because there were a lot of items that I would just keep as is!  I loved so many of them.  However, I then stumbled across a perfectly plain blue dress that I knew would be a great blank slate…. and of course, a peter pan collar was added.
Read below to see how you can take simple dress and update it to suit your needs!
Before I begin, let me just tell you that I was so amazed with the BooHoo packaging.  This box is perfect.
Inside, was my pretty blue dress.

To make it a true refashion, I grabbed one of my old shirts that I no longer wear.

I drafted a half peter pan collar to fit the neckline.

Inside the neckline were hem facings.  I simply unpicked the top row of stitching and put the raw edges of my collar in and stitched it back up!   Instant collar that looks like it was always there.

Because I am not a dress wearer, I then hemmed it to be a peplum length on me because I knew I would get a ton of wear out of it.

This refashion took me about 45 minutes… that is my kind of sewing!  I paired it with a cardigan because, man, it is cold outside.  Plus, I just love cardigans.
Paired with a belt, cardigan, and boots, I would say this is a pretty great outfit to wear on an everyday basis.

It looks like I am just standing on a “dusting” of snow, right?  Nope, I was standing on top of about 20 inches… frozen over.
Fun times when you keep sinking in during the photos, ha.

I loved the dress, but shirts are way more realistic for me. I am way more of a jeans and a top kind of girl, so I am super happy with this refashion.  Thanks Boo Hoo for offering such awesome styles!

I love the blue and it looks great with the cardigan! I love dresses but don’t wear them as much as I would like. I’m definitely a jeans and top kind of gal as well!
