Mini “Thankful” Sticker Pumpkins: The Handcrafted Holidays

I am so excited to be jumpstarting my first blog series, “The Handcrafted Holidays”.  I have the most amazing group of women that will be sharing their awesomeness with us for the next 3 weeks.  Get ready to add lots of ideas to your Pinterest pages!   Follow along and make sure you add your projects to the linky parties every Saturday.  The first party is already up HERE!

Starting off The Handcrafted Holidays is a beautiful lady named Justine from Sew Country Chick.   I “met” Justine when we competed together in Project Run and Play and I fell in love with her style and her personality.  Not only can she sew like a wonder woman, she is just a lovely, lovely person whom I have had the pleasure of getting to know better since then.  Thanks, Justine!

Hi , I’m Justine from the Sew County Chick blog where I blog about sewing clothes for myself and my daughters, DIY decorating projects to fix up our old farmhouse, and crafty fun! I love Hayley’s blog and I’m so happy to be visiting Welcome To The Mouse House today to share this super simple project to spruce up a corner of your house with these mini scrapbook “Thankful” sticker pumpkins.

My four year old is always trying to throw mini pumpkins into our shopping cart during Halloween time and we are often left with lots of them with which we use to decorate the Thanksgiving table. They stay fresh for a long time so why not incorporate our tiny pumpkins into Thanksgiving decor? minipumpkins These little pumpkins were on sale for fifty nine cents each so I bought several, knowing I would think of some sort of project to do with them. Since I never did get around to using them for Halloween, (my decorating plans are often a lot more ambitious than what I have time for !) I decided to decorate them with some cute Lobster font stickers I found at Joann’s in the scrap booking section for three dollars. And that was before I used my forty percent discount coupon.

Here they are sitting atop the hutch in my kitchen, looking very Thankful indeed.

And here they are sitting atop my old apothecary cabinet in my dining room, looking quite comfortable there as well! And when I fix up my dining table I may just end up placing them there.

minipumkinstuteThis project is so simple it hardly merits a full tutorial but this is what my pumpkin looked like and these are what the stickers look like. I just stuck mine on the pumpkin but if you want hem to not fall off I would advice using a coat of Mod Podge Matte on top to seal them. I hope you will stop by and visit me at my blog Sew Country Chick to say hi!
