Do you guys ever come across a product and think “Oh my goodness… I WISH they had this when my kids were babies!” That happened to me a few weeks ago when I was contacted by Baby Shusher. This awesome product was created by 2 parents, desperately tired and looking for a solution to get their new baby to sleep. Boy, I could have used this when Ainsley was born.
Now, you may or may not realize that I no longer have babies. What I DO have is a 6 year old son with Autism and sensory issues and they wanted to see how well he responded to this product, so they shipped it over to us.
So, what IS the Baby Shusher?
It is this cute little gadget that literally “shushes” to your baby. If you are anything like me, I used to shuuuuuush as loud as I could to Baby Ainsley because it was literally the only thing that would calm her down (difficult little thing she was!) We even went as far as using the blow dryer (I don’t recommend that 😉
It fits in the palm of your hand and comes ready with batteries
The top is simple. It twists from 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or off.
The bottom holds the speaker. This is where the rhythmic “shush” comes from. Now, the noise may seem very loud or harsh, but they assure you that they have done their research to see what sounds are effective and not harmful to baby.
Then, of course, there is the volume control.
Simply twist to turn up or down.
They know this is effective for babies, but the question was… how well does it work in calming down children with special needs?
I can vouch 100% that this was a perfect addition to Ethan’s soothing techniques. He laid it on his pillow and instantly calmed down while he listened to the repetitive sounds.
This will likely become an integral part of his “time outs”… we are hoping this will help calm him down a bit faster.
I just want to give a big thanks to Baby Shusher for letting us try out your awesome product. I will be absolutely recommending it to new parents! (and I really do wish this was around during Ainsley’s first year… can you tell I remember that time well?)

I love the baby shusher app for my phone. This would be amazing to have so i can use my phone again. Especially when it rings.
I didn’t know they had an app for the phone. I need to find that app!
