The 30 Minute Easter Skirt: DIY

Make a super cute, super inexpensive skirt out of dish towels
(aka: tea towel for my Australian friends:) just in time for Easter!
I made Ainsley’s Easter dress a few weeks ago, but I didn’t want her wearing that to her preschool’s egg hunt!
So, when I saw these adorable dish towels at TJ Maxx for only $3.99, I grabbed them so quickly.  The best part is that they already have the ric rac trim at the bottom.  Double score!
Remember last year when I shared how to make a “30 minute Tea Towel Skirt“?   Yep, I decided to do that again!
Follow my previous tutorial to create an adorable, inexpensive, and EASY skirt just in time for Easter.

I did make adjustments for this particular skirt:
*Instead of just one dish towel, I used both for a fuller skirt
*I cut the dish towels in half and used the front decorative halves for the front and back of the skirt, and used the other halves for the side panels of the skirt.
*I inserted my elastic correctly this time 🙂
No hemming needed!  How awesome, right?
I love the ric rac detail
(and I love it even more because I didn’t have to do the work:)
I love sewing, but sometimes I need an easy, quick project.
Enjoy and please let me know if you make one too!

That’s so cute! I don’t have a little girl to dress up, but I would try this if I did.

That’s clever and time saving… I’ve never though about towels… I often use blanket and pillows, like in my latest Summer Sewing blog post…
    Tx for sharing!
