Star Wars Themed Baby Shower

It took a lot of behind the scenes collaborating, but with the help of many great friends, we were able to throw together a super fun and super unique baby shower for a great lady.  Our friend Trish does so much to help everyone around her and we knew she deserved a special day before she welcomes her newest baby boy into the world.  Plus, it was a surprise party!  Even cooler, right?

My awesome friend Jenny and I talked for days and days about themes and cakes and decorations and logistics.  It was a ton of fun!  Once we came up with the idea of Star Wars for the theme, it all came together easily.  We used a local baker Fairy Cakes and she was able to give us the blank canvas we needed.

She delivered us a beautiful cake covered in crumbs to resemble the tatooine (terrain)from Star Wars.   We added the cute little Lego guys on top for the perfect touch.

We also had her make the beautiful cupcakes.  They were the perfect shade of blue and they had adorable fondant stars on them. We printed out cute little Star Wars inspired characters (found here) and turned them into cupcake toppers!

We have some seriously talented friends and one of them happens to be a “cookie extraordinaire”.   One of the best types of friends to have, if you ask me….  We knew she would be the perfect person to make the cookie favors.  Look at what she created:

Jessica does not “yet” have a cookie business, but she sure does have an organizing business and I would love for you to check her out on Facebook (I keep trying to convince her to do the cookie thing as a business!!!)

We took her super fun R2D2 cookies and wrapped them up individually for people to take home.  (not pictured are the fun stickers on the back that say “May the Force Be With You”)

The sweets table was full of cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzel sticks (aka sith sticks), Wookie Cookies (hehe), brownies, cake pops, and jars filled with candy and popcorn.  Yum.

Things got a bit crazy when everyone starting arriving, so we didn’t get too many photos of the food.  However, we were able to snap a few shots of the beverages

“Warrior Water” with cute little R2D2 labels printed from here

“Jedi Juice”

Some of the basic decorations included some tissue poms and printed banners and signs I made the morning of the party

Since there were about 25 women coming, we set up several tables in the family room (first time my lack of couch has actually come in handy!)

We were able to get the guest of honor’s husband to secretly give us pictures of her when she was a child:)

And one of the dad-to-be.

One of the best ideas was thought up by my friend Jenny!  She had all the guests bring a picture of themselves from when they were a baby and then one from now.  Everyone participated in a fun game, trying to guess which pictures matched.
(baby pics weren’t hung up yet in this picture)

Here is when everyone was mulling around, trying to guess

And of course, it was a surprise party, so when the guest of honor arrived, my friend Jenny answered the door and you could tell Trish was shocked to see all of her friends in my house!

Lots of fun gifts to open!

And of course, I had to make her a few things, including this adorable Yoda inspired onesie 🙂  It gives me quite a chuckle

Congrats Trish!  Can’t wait to meet your newest baby boy!
