Halloween Costumes: In Progress

I thought when Project Run and Play ended that I would be able to take a much needed break, but I had completely forgotten that I still had Etsy orders to work on and I had to make Ethan and Ainsley’s Halloween costumes!
(Ethan: Bunny Rabbit;  Ainsley: Kitty Cat)

Because time is slipping away, I had to combine some pre-made elements into their costumes and I am fairly happy with how they are turning out.

We are going to a local trick-or treating event so I had to get them completed ASAP.  (I will make sure to get some pictures of the kids wearing them!)

Ainsley’s black kitty outfit was created from a store bought black zip up hoodie and pettiskirt.  I sewed up the ears and sewed on the “belly”.  She will also be wearing a tail, black gloves, and black stockings and carrying a Hello Kitty basket.

Ethan’s bunny costume was created from a store bought gray sweatsuit.  I made his bunny ears and added wire to the insides, but they look more like the donkey from Shrek at this point, so I have to redo them.  I made the “belly” from fluffy white chenille.  I sewed a little white pom pom on the tush for his cotton tail.  Finally, I made him a carrot basket for all the goodies.

Hopefully, I will have their costumes finalized this weekend!  Apparently, there is supposed to be a hurricane here right around Halloween?  That would be a total bummer, so fingers crossed that it isn’t as bad as they say!

Finally, I finished the 3 Rainbow Heart Jackets that are headed to 3 little girls in Japan!  How cute are they going to look???

Love the idea for the carrot bag. I think you can’t go wrong using some of the premade–they look great and no need to be completely from scratch. I think those coats are adorable!! The picture needs to be sent to Ann Kelle for her blog where she posts her “fabric sightings” every so often. I think she stumbles upon the ones she posts but she needs to see those–she would “heart’ them!!!
