Ainsley’s Shabby Chic Bedroom: Part 1

UPDATE!
Here is the link to Ainsley’s room!

Ainsley will be 2 in about a month (how did that happen?!) and she is still in her crib, but I really wanted to start working on her soon-to-be “big girl room”.  We probably won’t move her into the regular bed for quite some time, but at least this will get her acquainted with everything prior to the big transition.

My vision for her room was  “shabby chic, girly, timeless, eclectic, non-age specific”.  Make sense?  Yeah, not really a clear, concise theme, but who cares.  It’s my house.  I will do what I want.  Bwahahaha.

Okay, so here is the first posting about her room.  It is nowhere near finished yet.  Still need artwork, accessories, and all the finishing touches, but that will get done.  Eventually.

*Painted the room a really neat blue color (Benjamin Moore, Buxton Blue).  I love that the room isn’t a typical pink color, but we still have lots of pink accents.

Don’t you love the cute bunny statue?  Picked up that baby at Home Goods on clearance.  No room is complete without a bunny statue
Dresser is from Craigslist.  Total score.
Lamp is from Goodwill.
Cute little reading area.  I am going to change the fabric on the chair, I think.
Pink Balloon shades are from Target.
I painted the side table.
Again, another lamp from Goodwill.
Flowers from thrift store.
Bed from Craigslist, same seller as the dresser.  Amazing deal.
Bedding from Target.
I made the canopy, still need to finish it!
See that plate rack on the floor?  Got it off Craigslist…. still needs to be hung.
She is going to look so cute in this bed!

I just found your site from your link to the Thrifty Decor Chick. My daughter has the same bed and I wasn’t sure if you were aware but you can lower the mattress. We set her bed lower when she first made the transition to her big girl bed. She is now almost 8 & still loves this bed. Great job on the colors…beautiful.

I adore the hanging fabric thing above the bed – so cute!! I found you off TDC link party. I did a little girls room in pink clay – stop by if you would like!

Love the girly accents. The canopy and plate rack as book shelf. It’s fantastic. About how big is this room, I’m wondering. My daughter’s is about the same size I think.
