Chaos in Progress

I know,  I know…. I am seriously crazy.  We only moved into this house 6 months ago and this is my 3rd time redoing our living room.  However, I have a good feeling this time!  Want to know why?  Well, because I sold everything today.  lol.  I literally sold all our living room furniture today, so I have no choice but to start fresh!

Last night, I decided to list everything on Craigslist and hope for the best.  It went better than we could have ever imagined and within 12 hours we sold our couch, mirror, side table, lamp, throw pillows, curtains, several accessories, and the armoire is pending.  Unbelievable!

So, now we are left with an empty room and it gives me such inspiration!

AND we decided to remove the playroom and turn it into the originally intended dining room.  We aren’t bad parents, I swear!  I was beginning to realize that the kids were not caring about their toys and they were acting very ungrateful for the MANY things they have.  It hit me that kids don’t need an entire room filled with toys (and when I say filled, I literally mean packed, stuffed, filled to the brim).  So, Garrett and I began filling bins and bins full of toys to sell/donate.  We also filled a few bins of toys that we will store in the basement for a few months and rotate them out when they are getting bored of their current toys.

Once we sorted through the ridiculous amounts of toys, we brought out the dining room furniture we had been storing since we moved here!  So excited to have a “grown up” room!

I promise….the kids will have a play area, but it will be smaller and much more scaled down.  They will survive.

Here are pictures of the current chaos and progress.  I can’t wait to redo these two rooms!

Here is the former playroom, with our old dining set back!  We haven’t even begun to redo this room…lots to do in here!

Here is our living room, completely empty (except for a few random items)

Fabric choices…. I want to use the paisley for the bay windows and the stripes for the dining room!

So, thanks for all the input and advice and I will make sure to update with pictures as I continue with the process!
