Ethan’s “First” Halloween

Okay, so it’s not Ethan’s real first Halloween, but we didn’t dress him up or take him out last year. I mean, the kid was only 4 months old on Halloween and he went to bed at 5:30pm…. there really wasn’t much point. (I am sure he will throw this back in my face during his teenage years. Somehow, I messed him up by skipping his first Halloween). Anyway, we decided that this would be his “First” Halloween to dress up and go get candy from strangers. To be honest with you, I still felt rather strange about the whole idea. Everyone knows that we would never give him the candy, so it feels wrong to take candy from people for my own consumption. Whatever. I felt it had to be done this year, so I complied.

He looked absolutely adorable in his penguin costume (thanks again Danna and PJ for letting us borrow it!) We actually took him to a local mall for Trick-or-Treating, which I would never normally do, but we didn’t really have many other options. Our neighborhood is still being built and there aren’t many people in it yet. So, to the mall we went! Here are some photos of us, um I mean, Ethan getting his candy!

On another note, Garrett went into work today dressed as Pi-Rate. For those of you that don’t know this, he is a high school math teacher. He found it hilarious to dress as a Pi-Rate… Get it? “Pi” as in 3.14…. You know, the math term? Okay, if you don’t know what that means, you need to go back to a math refresher course. Here how he left the house this morning. (Ah, I am so proud of him)
There are also a few pictures of Ethan dressing up in parts of Garrett’s costume:

He is absolutely adorable as little pinguin.

Don’t feel bad about the candy. Everybody enjoys the cute little tods coming to their doors and to give them candy. And who cares about the candy, you could just buy it, too. It’s about the fun part!
